Bloom's Taxonomy is a great tool for teachers to utilize while asking questions. What skills will the students be practicing? The graphic organizer above gives the vocabulary related to each skill as well as questions a teacher can use to practice the skill, making it a very effective tool teachers can use in class during formative or summative assessments. In my opinion, the most important two skills on the graphic organizer is applying and comprehending knowledge, and questions in my classroom will ask students questions like, "What is the main idea of this passage?" or "Why is this main idea significant?" I plan on having many performance-based assessments in my classroom, so applying knowledge will be practiced A LOT, and students must be able to comprehend their knowledge in order to apply it. Questions can be used a discussion starters during the classroom, but teachers must be able to answer questions given by students, so it is important for teachers to possess the knowledge of the content before they just go about asking a billion questions. Teachers must also encourage students to ask questions as well.
